Researching On Generation Mechanism And Organizational Boundaries Of Technological Alliance

Since 1980s,when the western developed countries adopted the technological alliance as the strategic mode for the first time,along with the rapid development of knowledge economic globalization,technological alliance has played a more and more important role in the technology innovation,research related to it also become the hot topic. In the aspect of theory, the mechanism of formation, work, operation of the technological alliance and the efficiency of the technological got full attentions; In the area of application,it became important topic for both the economist and Management scientist about the mode of operation,management and distribution of interest of the technological alliance. Although lots of research findings about the technological alliance we get,there are still several questions not solved. Therefore, this paper adopted the theory of neoclassical economics to conduct the research of the technological alliance from the view of division of labor and cooperation.Firstly,on the base of explaining the Circumscription,the background of formation and the motivation of formation of the technological alliance,the paper analyzed the mechanism of the formation of the technological alliance---technological alliance is the inevitable requirement as the social division of labor progress further, with division of labor deepening,specialization economy becomes more and more obvious,at the same time,because the capacity of the firm is limited and the transaction expense is higher,so the rational enterprise will choose specialization when they want to innovate technology,and they will establish the technological alliance to save transaction expense with other enterprise. Then,the paper assumed that there were only three ways to get the needed technology: self-sufficiency, marketing,technological alliance, we got that technological alliance was the optimal decision when the transaction efficiency improved to a level through the inframarginal analysis.Then,basing on the consideration of the stability of the technological,the paper had analyzed the organizational boundaries of the alliance,we found that the boundaries related to the transaction efficiency,once some conditions change that the transaction efficiency is not in the suitable interval,the persistence of the alliance will face to a hard test. When the transaction efficiency is in the right interval,the alliance will exist stability. After theoretical analysis,we discussed the problem of the construction and management of the technological alliance,and we conducted empirical analyses through the example of"IGRS". Then we considered the current situation about the technological alliance in China,and pointed out the problem in the process of developing the technological alliance. We put forward some relevant policy suggestions from the respects of government and enterprises accordingly. Finally, this paper summarized the research achievements, and pointed out the limitations of the study,and also the direction of the future research.
