| After reforming and opening, more and more multinational enterprises(MNEs)set up factories in China with the influx of foreign capital, which break the originalcompetition structure of domestic pharmaceutical market. Because of a huge technologygap, some domestic enterprises have got development as well as some others got significantadverse impact. What causes this phenomenon and what is the main factor of thisadverse effect? It is the focus of this thesis.This study based on the research of technology spillover channels of MNEs andthe absorptive capability of host country enterprises, in order to build a basic model oftechnology spillovers and improved it with absorptive capability to analyze the testresults of state-owned enterprises, and take Hisun Pharmaceutical Company as theresearch object to study and summarize its successful experience of absorptiontechnology spillovers. It draws a conclusion that the technology spillovers by MNEspose a negative effects upon the overall labor productivity of state-owned enterprises.The main factors causing the previous influence are losing market shares due to fiercecompetition and losing human capital in state-owned enterprises. However, it haspositive effects on labor productivity in new products, which is mainly reflected inincreasing investment in R&D personnel to obtain a certain amount of technologyspillovers, and the most direct expression is ever narrowing the technology gapbetween domestic and foreign enterprises. On basis of current problems faced bystate-owned enterprises, this study put forward with corresponding suggestions inorder to absorb technology spillovers and improve technological innovationcapability. |
