With the process of the whole world economics unify and China entering the WTO, the pharmaceutical industry of our country is facing more furious competition in the international pharmaceutical market. The pharmaceutical industry of Sichuan should try its best to improve the science and technology innovation capability in such a serious condition. So it' s very important to evaluate the science and technology innovation capability correctly and scientifically and give some suggestions and countermeasures for the development of the pharmaceutical industry of Sichuan.Firstly, this thesis summarizes the research of the science and technology innovation, the science and technology innovation capability of pharmaceutical industry and the evaluation of the science and technology innovation capability.Secondly, it analyzes the situation of the capability of science and technology innovation of Sichuan pharmaceutical industry on the basis of practical investigation.Thirdly, it analyzes the factors of the science and technology innovation capability of pharmaceutical industry and establishes an index system to evaluate the science and technology innovation capability. It finds 8 main factors through the basis of statistic data and the method of Factor Analysis. Through the result of 8 factors in Cluster Analysis and Factor Analysis, it concludes that Sichuan pharmaceutical industry has higher lever of research and the science and technology innovation capability was raising from 1995 to 2003, but it still have some problem.
