The Research On The Rural Old Care During The Labor Migration

The population structure change is an undisputable fact. Social changes have been weakening the function of the traditional family security, and the demand of the old-age caring has been increasing dramatically. Because the new rural institutional guarantee is imperfection yet, the family economic support and life care for the old-age are confronted with the unprecedented dilemma. Care for the advanced-age and the frail elderly also becomes a hard practical problem to solve.With the discussion of the rural labor migration as the start point, the present study focuses on analyzing its impact on the rural old care system. Five sections are included in this thesis.Section One and Section Two mainly focus on the features of the rural labor migration and the situations of the old-age in China. The social support system for the old care will be presented from two perspectives:formal care system and informal care system.Section Three and Section Four concentrate on the impact of the labor migration on the traditional old care custom and the resource and quality of the old care. The problems caused by the labor migration will be elaborated.Section Five contributes to put forward the author's suggestions to the problems mentioned above in order to make the formal old care system and the informal old care system work alternatively well during the labor migration.
