The Study On Current Bamboo Forest Management Situation And Bamboo Forest Management Strategy In Zhejiang Province

Bamboo industry, as the leading industry of Zhejiang forestry, has been developing quickly sincethe Reform and Open-up. Bamboo industry is a promising industry that can bring not only economicbenefit, but also ecological and social benefit, which can help the peasants in the mountain area to buildthe well-off society, gain steady income, and improve the environment. But during the process ofdevelopment, some problems, mainly caused by the transfer of labor and the development of economy,such as the increase of cost and the imbalanced structure of bamboo industry, began to appear. Theimbalanced development between regions is even going worse. So making the appropriate policyaccording to the present situation, taking the advantages of resources, improving the bamboo industry,and putting the bamboo industry into full play is a new problem confronted by bamboo peasant inZhejiang. Through reading and consulting relative research achievement and literature, analyzing anddealing with a lot of materials and data, this paper summarized the situation about the bamboocultivation, the composition of bamboo forest, the production of bamboo product, the bamboo industryin Zhejiang. Through comparing the development situation of bamboo industry in Zhejiang with that inChina, the position of Zhejiang bamboo industry in China is made clear.Taking the industry selection theory and industry structure theory as guild line, according to thedifference between bamboo management types and different development situation between regions,10regions were selected to present the whole development level of Zhejiang. And visits were paid to these10regions to interview and collect materials, to summarize the bamboo management types.The result is that there were5types of bamboo management:①bamboo-wood forest dominating,planting shoots-bamboo forest and bamboo-wood forest according to the local situation;②springbamboo-shoots forest and bamboo forest both for shoots and bamboo dominating, the bamboo-woodforest takes up little proportion;③forest for both bamboo and bamboo shoots dominating, supplementingby spring bamboo shoots forest;④forest for both bamboo and bamboo shoots dominating,supplementing by bamboo-wood forest and spring bamboo-shoots forest;⑤b amboo-wood forestdominating, and supplementing by forest both for shoots and bamboo. And the factors that affected thepeasants to choose these types were summarized, they were market, site condition, labor, technology andeconomy level, which separately took the percentage of38.83%,19.17%,12.83%,5.43%,2.33%.Finally, suggestions were offered from government aspect, society aspect, and peasant aspect whenpeasants choose the bamboo management types.
