The paper described the relationship between the rise and fall of the medievalChristian culture and tradition of modern science from the rise to the development ofthe scientific tradition. From the Analysis of the history of the development of medievalChristian culture and modern science, we can explain the complex relationship betweenthe two.Papers spreads from the three levels, first, analyzed the establishment of themedieval Christian culture and the rational view and nature factors in Christian culture, these factors cultivate the germ for the modern scientific tradition to grow, and laid thefoundation for future development.Secondly, analysis of the birth of the role played by the development of the modernscientific tradition of medieval Christian culture. Medieval mid-Christian culturethrough translation movement, the rise of the University, the prosperity anddevelopment of Christian culture, the establishment of the theological and culturalsystems, and at the same time, the cultural development of Western Europe has reachedits peak, Christianity has played a role in promoting the culture of modern science andtraditional produce.Thirdly, the decline of the medieval Christian culture and its decline brought about"liberation" of science. In the late Middle Ages, as a result of the Christian church split, making the mental breakdown of scholasticism and a unified Christian culture of theMiddle Ages fall into crisis, leading to the separation of reason and faith, rational spiritgot independent development. The development of Christian culture went through the three historical stages: thecreation, prosperity and decline. In the process of historical development, thetheological concept of natural transfer to the science, theology values graduallypenetrate to the science, thus showing the complexity of the relationship of science andreligion. The complexity of the relationship of science and religion on the one hand appears to be compatible between science and religion as well as the opposition, on theother hand, the constraints and incentive of the religion on science. At the same time, the relationship between religious institutions and scientific institutionalization is alsoconcerned in this paper.
