Ceramic press is the special equipment of the ceramic industry, which is based onceramic technology, integrating the machinery, hydraulics, pneumatics, electronics, andcomputer and so on. It is necessary to carry out the analytic study on the main structure as themajor load of ceramic press is imposed on the main frame. Pretension steel wire-wound frameis a new-type frame of ceramic press, and this paper researches on steel wire-wound ceramicpress frame in terms of solid modeling, static analysis, modal analysis and structuraloptimization of the frame, based on the finite element method by means of three-dimensionalcomputer aided design software and finite element analysis software. The main tasks are asfollows:(1) On the baste of pretension steel wire-wound ceramic press frame’s two-dimensionaldrawings, by applying Pro/Engineer software, built three-dimensional solid model;(2) Import three-dimensional solid model of the ceramic press frame to HyperMeshsoftware, to do pre-processing, accomplish the finite element model of the frame;(3) Import the finite element model of the ceramic press frame in ANSYS software, carryout static analysis of the frame, the stress and displacement of the frame under preloadconditions and working conditions situation is obtained;(4) Finite element analysis software ANSYS is applied to the finite element modalanalysis for the ceramic press frame, the preceding12steps natural frequencies and vibrationmodes of the frame are obtained, and each vibration mode is evaluated in detail;(5) Based on the existing finite element model of ceramic press frame, carry out sizeoptimize of the low pallet by OptiStruct software, reduce the weight of the low pallet.Through the above studies show that the performance of the steel wire-wound ceramicpress frame meets design requirements, and this study also provide a theoretical basis forfurther design of ceramic press frame.
