The diversity, flexibility of the techniques and the flexible processing of the punchingproducts requires punching machine to realize the forming of the punching parts by themeans of adjusting the movement of slide blocks, and new press can meet this requirement. This paper is based on the technology of finite element, combining with the moderncomputer, making use of ANSYS which is the specialized finite element analyzingsoftware, to establish mechanical model of the frame for the new press, to analyze theframe both statically and dynamically via finite element, and to design and research theframe structure properly on the basis of the analysis result. The main content is asfollowing:Firstly, the traditional design is mainly based on the experiences. In this paper, thestatic character of type JA21-60S-1 and type JA21-60S-2 are analyzed, and the staticanalysis results are compared. Based on the results of the comparison, this paper choosetype JA21-60S-1 as the best model. After analysis of the type on stress field, distortionfield and angle rigidity, the stress concentrated parts and the weak ones can be found. Allof these set a solid foundation for its quality optimization.Secondly, in modal analysis, the first ten modalities of the frame are calculated. Afterthe analysis on the influence to the press under each mode, a solid foundation is thus set forits dynamic character optimization.Thirdly, through the dynamic response analysis on the frame, the response of frameunder the impulsive loads are studied, the advantages and disadvantages of the pressdynamic character are obtained.Fourthly, in optimum design, according to the analysis result of the static, modal anddynamic response analyze, on the condition of guaranteeing the processing precision, theweight of the frame is reduced, the concentration of stress, which may causes the wearydestruction, is relieved, and the dynamic character is improved.Lastly, all the researches of the paper are summarized and what should do next is listed.
