Promote manufacturing informatization is determined as the important direction ofmanufacturing industries in the national long-term plan for science and technologydevelopment (2006-2020), which is important technical support to enhance the abilityof independent innovation and realize the transformation and upgrading of industrialstructure, it is also the significant strategic action to put "informatization spursindustrialization on while industrialization promotes informatization " in to practice. Atpresent, extending informationization from design level and manage level of enterprisesto workshop level and making use of MES to improve the level of productionmanagement and the capacity of production and manufacture is one of the mostimportant developmental trends of present manufacturing informationization. And theresearch on MES is also a hotpot of advanced manufacturing field.This paper was sponsored by8developing domestic car transmission gearproduction line of the national Science and Technology main project (Item Number:2011ZX04001-04106), it researches on general structure of the monitoring anddevelopment system for gear production line, aims to a series of productionmanagement problems of the traditional production line including manual accounting,production information transparency, unscientific management and so on. On the basisabove, the machining process of gear production line is analyzed by simulation, whichprovide decision support for production management.First of all, the status and development trend of domestic and foreign traditionalmechanical production line monitoring management is introduced, and then thecharacteristics and production management status of the gear the gear processingproduction line production line are introduced, and proposed the requirements of thegear production line monitoring management.Secondly, the system function,network and structure are studied, and the gearproduction line monitoring management system is designed and developed. With theproduction task as the main line, the function system includes eight function models,such as basic data management, monitoring base, production task management,monitoring process management, dynamic monitoring, statistical analysis andcomprehensive information query, system management. And then, according to thecharacteristics of the processing workshop, the hardware system is studied, and hardware core components as the server of production line is designed, at last, thecorresponding software system is developed.And then, a GSPN-based modeling approach is proposed, which takes into accountall the aforementioned complex factors in production process as modeling an gearproduction line. Therefore, the quantitative relations between those factors andproductivity of gear production line can be accurately analyzed, which provide decisionsupport for production management.Finally, the above research results are applied for the development of the nationalscience and technology major project (Item Number:2011ZX04001-04106), as the mainresearcher in developing China’s first “network management and intelligent monitoringsystem of gear automatic production line”. The system can implement many functionsincluding process drawing and production task orders, acquisition and monitoring ofproduction progress dynamic information, dynamic monitoring of processing quality,equipment operation condition monitoring (fault or normal), tool change monitoring,production condition analysis including equipment utilization ratio statistics, productionefficiency statistics, scrap rate statistics etc. The system has applied to practicalproduction, and the result is good.
