For manufacturing companies,continuous improvement in production operations management to reduce production costs,shorten lead times,and increase labor productivity are eternal themes.The production plan is the most important part of production operation management.The Manufacturing Execution System(MES)provides effective support for manufacturing organizations to improve production planning and build smart factories.Through a combination of lean production(production operation optimization)and MES(digital production operations),you can optimize production planning and improve production and operation performance.Based on the relevant theories and tools of production operation management,lean production and manufacturing execution system MES,this paper conducts a comprehensive analysis of GE Oil&Gas Shanghai's production operation management and determines that improving production planning is the key to improving production and operation performance.The MES system was selected as the basic platform for the production plan,and the overall production plan optimization measures were formulated.The research first collects data on production operation performance through surveys,analyzes the current production and operation status of the enterprise,and defines the long delivery period,high manufacturing cost,low on-time delivery rate,and low inventory turnover rate in the company's discrete manufacturing environment.Operational issues;secondly,using production operations management theory,5Why,value stream maps,and smart factory assessment tools to find the root cause of problems in production operations management.It was determined that the root cause of these problems was the waiting for waste of personnel and materials in the production process due to inefficient production planning.At the same time,the lack of visual and real-time production data support in the production planning process,and the existence of certain limitations,in lean manufacturing improvem ent are the main reasons for the inefficiency of production plan ning.Finally,when the production plan is optimized,the necessity and feasibility of optimizing the production plan of the MES system are determ ined.As a manufacturing execution system,MES is ch aracterized by the real-time collection and processing of produetion data,and the use of information systems to improve the eff ectiven ess of production planning to support the development and implementation of optimized production plans.This paper also systematically designed the implem entation guarantee and effect evaluation of optimization measures,laying the fou ndation for consolidating the optimization resu lts and continuo us improvement.The research results have reference significan ce for the introduction of advanced production management concepts and tools by manufacturing enterprises and the improvem ent of production managem ent level.
