Due to tectonic influence, Weibei coalfield construction complex, it is produce a certaininfluence to coal mine safety and production. It is mainly analyzed that central area(Wangshiwa、Jinhuashan Mine) of Tongchuan Minefield development features of geologicalstructure, the tectonic stress field is analyzed on the basis of summarizing Tongchuan minearea tectonic background and formation in the paper. On this basis, study the fractal featuresof the fault of5#coal by using network coverage of fractal theory. Last, by using fuzzycomprehensive evaluation method to evaluate western area of Tongchuan Minefield miningarea structural complexity degree, Gray System Modeling is applied to predict evaluationindex values of non-mining area and the structural complexity degree of non-mining isevaluated quantitatively. The following main results has been made in the paper:(1) The structures of folds and faults are all development in western area of TongchuanMinefield, which folds belong to the low-level small folds and secondary folds. The revealedfaults662, which accounted for90%of the revealed fault gap of less than5m of small faults,had a dense belt or into a piece of exhibition features.(2) Using the input editing and space analysis of MAPGIS two modules to study thefractal features of the fault of5#coal. Followed by use of computer regression techniques toobtain the block of the fractal dimension D and correlation coefficient R, obtained acorrelation coefficient of each block are0.9232above, a good linear fit illustrates thedistribution of the5#coal fracture in the scale has good statistical self-similarity, thussuggesting that the faults have a fractal characteristics.(3) By comparing the fault density, fault strength index, the fault to affect the index, flatfold intensity index, construction area of loss coefficient of five quantitative evaluation indexare selected to use the fuzzy comprehensive evaluation, evaluate quantitatively the structural complexity degree of mining area in western area of Tongchuan Minefield mining area, withthe mining conditions contrast, evaluation results are consistent with the actual exposedexploitation situation. On this basis, the Gray System Model is used to forecast the indexvalue of non-mining area assessment, and the structural complexity of non-mining area isevaluated quantitatively. The results are: The non-mining area of5#coal which has beendivided into36units,22units of class Ⅰ,5units of class Ⅱ,5units of class Ⅲ,4units ofclass Ⅳ. The non-mining area of10#coal which has been divided into147units,60units ofclass Ⅰ,38units of class Ⅱ,23units of class Ⅲ,26units of class Ⅳ, so mine non-miningarea with a whole lower structural complexity degree, it is show that non-mining area is moreappropriate for comprehensive mechanical mining.
