At present, energy consumption of iron and steel industry is large in China’s energyconsumption, and the impact for our enviroment is very seriously which generated in thesmelting process. In recent years, we have achieved remarkable results in energy saving andpollutant reduction, while because of the steel production growth, the resourse consumptionand pollutant emissions tends to increase, the steel industry continues to face the serouschallenges of resource and enviroment. This paper studies the steel production process and thelevel of the production process to study the issue of enviromental load further. Applying thetheories and methods of metallurgical processes engineering, and on the base of analysisfor the material flow, energy flow and environmental impact , we study the interactionbetween material flow , energy flow and environmental load, and present the dirction andways to reduce energy consumption which can help us seek new breakthrough to save energyfor steel companies, point out the direction and channels for optimizing production processes.This article reads as follows:We establish the material flow input-output model of producion process, construct thematerial flow diagram of steel production process, point out the main measures which canimprove resource efficiency in the steel production process:①reducing the amount of wastein iron production process;②recycling the produced waste as much as possible in thisprocess or other processes;③making full use of the external block of scrap and iron ore andother materials; present the main measures to make the coefficient of the material procuctionlower:①increasing the external meterial flow in downstream, and reducing emissions indownstream processes;②reducing the upstream and downstream loop material flow. Basedon each energy flow’s characteristics in input and output energy conversion processes,establish energy input-output model for energy conversion processes, and apply this modelto discuss the value of energy products and the relationship between the value of energyproducts and each unit of energy flow in input and output processes. For a certain energyconversion process, we construct the energy flow diagram for its converting network,analysize the impact of energy conversion efficiency and energy procucts value by usingvarious energy conversion mode of energy medium.We establish the input-output model between energy conversion process and steelenterprise production process; construct input-output table for energy and environmental load;present the mathematical model of steel production process and the energy conversion process,expression of procedure energy consumption, production energy value and energyconsumption per ton, as well as the formula for procedure, products and environmental loadper ton by using material balance theory. We analysize the various factors which affects theseindicators, as well as the relationships between the energy flow, energy flow and pollutional flow. And by the application of energy consumption and environmental load models, researchand analysize the changes and progress for the past 20 years’domestic energy consumptionper ton and the environmental load, direct the factors that affect the environmental load andthe measures should be taken to reduce the environmental load.
