Honghu Lake is the largest lake of Hubei Province, located in the southwest of Honghu City. With a history of "Take grain as the key link" policy and rapid economic development, reclamation and enclosure culture has damaged Honghu lake badly and changed it into a site of shrinking area, polluted water, fragmented habitat and low biodiversity. As a countermeasure, Honghu Nature Reserve has taken two wetland Restoration Projects. This study review previous research, especially wetland Ecosystem Services of Providing, regulating, Culture, and Supporting (Millennium Ecosystem Assessment), based on frame of ecological component, ecological process and ecosystem services (hereafter "CPS Frame"), set2000-2003before project and2010-2011after project as key monitoring point, and then assessed the effect of Honghu Wetland Restoration Project through comparative analysis.According to situation of Honghu lake and its restoration aim, reatoration area, vegetation, bird, fish, water quality, water production, economic plants, tourism income, protection consciousness of villagers, research&monitoring capacity were picked out as key indicators, of which, the data of ecological indicator is obtained through literature review and field research, to describe the ecological character of Honghu Lake. Questionnaire was taken in project site, Hongyang village and Honghu village, which is far away from the project. More than10%of the household were sampled to horizontal and vertical compare the situation of fish, vegetation, water quality, bird, community health, fishermen income, etc.. Data of water production, agriculture income, tourism income were collected from Honghu Statistical Yearbook, Jingzhou Statistical Yearbook. All the data show that vegetation, bird, fish, water quality, water production, economic plants, tourism income, protection consciousness of villagers, research&monitoring capacity have improved markedly.Sort all the indicators of CPS frame before and after the restoration project, set maximum as standard value and assigned it10. Sum of each value before and after the project is the comprehensive index, which can be used to test the project effect, hrough Mann-Whitney Test, the differences of comprehensive index before and after restoration was significant (p<0.05), and the differences of ecosystem services was significant (p<0.05), whereas ecological component and ecological process were not.
