Nowadays the bell of ecosystem has tolled to warn people of its severe destruction and weakened status quo, when mankind enjoys the convenience brought by the rapidly-developed civilization. Wetland, which is closely associated with the existence, reproduction, and development of human beings, is being faced up with threats from the fast development of economy and urbanization. Therefore, it is highly important to work out an appropriate proposal, at the beginning of the project, on the utilization of urban land and scientific and reasonable design of wetland, so as to ensure the best option in designing the project.This article is to analyze the influence on wetland of the new construction project in the course of urbanization, in terms of its components, structure and properties of the wetland as well under the guideline of the design concept of the sustainable development. It also analyzes the cases of the preservation, utilization and design, as well as the restoration and reconstruction of wetland ecosystem at home and abroad. Taking into account the design and construction of Project of Tianjin Binhai New District, the article puts forward the proposal about means of effectively utilizing and controlling the land, about the establishment of coordinating system to preserve and utilizing wetland. It also suggests restoring the local species on the wetland, setting up the monitoring system of sustaining the restoration of urban wetland, and working out the strategies of reducing the human intervention with the utilization and restoration of wetland, in hope for some profitable exploration on the preservation and utilization of wetland ecosystem and its restoration.
