Research On The Layout Optimization Of The Chifeng Yulong Garment Factory’s Functional Areas

With the rapid economic development of economy, we are confronted with hugeprofits floating into enterprises which derives from the improvement of productionefficiency. Our country is in a stage of rapid economic development. As one of China’skey industries, garment manufacturing industry accommodates plenty of enterprisesacross the country, which determines that the competition is very fierce. It has become acommon research goal for all manufacturers that how to maximize the benefits andefficiency. The layout of functional areas plays a vital role in the efficiency of theenterprises. In China, most factories are built rely on the designer’s subjective experience,which ignore the objective factors that determines business efficiency. Problems arisesuch as unreasonable position layout of functional areas, inconvenience of the internalmaterial transportation, repeated operation of the same process which leads to the wasteof human resources and energy. In particular, some of the old enterprises’ functionalareas set extremely unreasonable. Therefore, the usage of a systematic approach to studythe layout of the business functional areas has a very important theoretical and practicalsignificance.Since1980s, infrastructure planning and design techniques have been applied in thefield of industrial production area. Furthermore, they also became subjects and have beenadded to the university education in the year of1990s. SLP technology stays in thepreliminary stages of development in China. This paper, with the background of Yulonggarment factory’s production functional areas’ logistics improvement works\, studies theusage of the SLP (system layout design) techniques to the layout of the productionfunction in the enterprise logistics improvement projects. From the actual situation ofChifeng Yulong garment factory, combined with the related theory of the SLP technologyand the basis of analysis of the layout of the existing functional areas, this paper comesup with specific improvement goals and steps. SLP techniques will be applied toadjustment and re-arrangement of the functional areas. After the final evaluation,theoretical and factual evidences verify the feasibility and superiority of the SLPtechniques in the layout of functional areas. The following aspects of theoreticalknowledge and practical application of the SLP method are described in detail in thispaper:(1) To analyze the current status of the SLP technology in China. SLP technology isused for the layout of the functional departments in the industrial field, which is a theoretical and practical technical approach and has been widely used in factory layoutand design.(2) Problems in the functional areas of Yulong garment factory. This paper analyzesits current features, enterprise’s current status, future needs under the background ofcurrent production layout and then sums up irrationality due to the layout of functionalareas, and the constraints that Yulong clothing factory may face in its furtherdevelopment of the waste of human resources and energy.(3) With the implementation of the SLP method, this paper aims to find possibilitiesto re-adjust the Ribbon layout of the Yulong garment factory. This paper discussedspecific measures for implementation of the SLP method in the layout design of ChifengYulong garment factory’s production functional areas. The areas’ layout design methodsand processes have been brought out in the paper. With the combination of cuttingoptimization idea and convenient handling, through the gradual deepening of thecalculation and research, the layout plan of the production function came up with severalribbon layout options. After detailed summarized and overall evaluation, analysis of thelayout of the functional areas set reasonable.(4) With the example of layout optimization study of the functional areas of ChifengYulong garment factory and empirical analysis, this paper verify that the SLP techniquehas played a decisive role in the layout planning of functional areas of the factory.Furthermore, it sets an outlook for the future application of SLP in the enterprise layout.Take the ribbon layout of the Chifeng Yulong garment factory as the object of study,combined with the current status of the enterprise and future development needs,in-depth analysis of the practical problems in the layout of its production function toanalyze the specific logistics data in the garment factory, which lay a good theoreticalbasis for the application of the SLP technique to enhance the rationality and sustainabilityof the functional areas of Chifeng Yulong garment factory layout. Also, this paperprovides some useful experience for the adjustment of other functional areas in ChifengCity.
