Garment layout plays an important role in the garment production, it is also the key technique for reducing cost and improving productivity. Garment layout is optimal problem that garment samples of the optimal layout. However, it is unfortunate that the optimal layout is not derived so far. Aiming at the problems of low efficiency of manual layout and low utilization of CAD layout system of garment in garment layout, sampled graph were plotted by using the knowledge of computer graphics, rectangle packing were composed according to similarity principle, the mathematical model of garment layout is set up in this paper. The optimal combination algorithm is proposed to implement the optimal layout. Then an information system of layout optimization was implemented based on above algorithms.The main work is listed as follows:(1) Based on the feature of the garment samples, they are plotted in computer through Bezier.(2) An idea of packing samples is proposed. An algorithm of rectangle packing is composed effectively by adopting similarity principle and selecting similar samples.(3) From the theory of automatic garment layout, the combination optimize scheme model of garment rectangular sample is established. Then the optimization algorithm is designed. Thus optimal layout scheme is obtained. (4) An information system of layout optimization is implemented. Firstly, the flow chart and functional module of the information system of layout optimization are analyzed. Then according to the actual demands, the database of SQL2005 is used. The interface of the information system of layout optimization is developed by using VB6.0.By applying the system in actual garment production, the manufacture time is reduced greatly and the rate of utilization is improved.
