The dye will be disintegrated by sunlight, so its light fastness isvery poor and wash fastness is not good as well, which is necessary for us to make researchto solve.Different kinds of diazonium salt were used to treat the silk fabric dyed with Turmeric.And the suitable diazonium salt was selected to modify the Turmeric. The situation such astemperature, time, pH value were changed to confirm the best treatment process. And aftertreatment, the light fastness was enhanced obviously especially the light fastness of dyedsilk fabric which was treated with p-nitroaniline diazonuim, from1to4degree, what ismore the color became more gaudy. Basic to those, the p-nitroaniline diazonuim waschosen to modify the Turmeric. And through changing the situation of dyeing, the bestdyeing process was confirmed. Because the fabric dyed with Turmeric has Ultravioletresistant and antimicrobial properties. The paper also discusses whether the treated anddyed silk fabric has these properties. The experiment suggests that the silk fabric has lowerT%of ultraviolet. And the antimicrobial property is not as well. But it also can beconsidered to have antimicrobial property.What’s more, the silk fabric dyed with modified dye has good reproducibility withovercome the weakness, which the treatment and mordant dyeing have. The color of thesilk fabric is gaudy, and it simplified the process at same time. So the modified Turmericdye has good complication prospect.
