The Research Status of arc welding power and parameters presetting systems were discussed. The arc welding machine in some factories had many shortages, which was adjusted inconvenience, low controlling precision, and no strong function of presetting parameters, or this function’s unsatisfactory effect and low universality. On the basis of the original welding machine, the controlling circuit of the welding power was digitally transformed, and an independent parameters presetting system that could be applied in a variety of external characteristics was designed.The design was improved on the basis of prior parameters presetting system, simultaneously, the digital signal controller dsPIC30F4013which was16-bit high-performance and with the function of EEPROM was regarded as the control core, together with reasonable periphery hardware circuit and software to achieve the preset of welding parameters. In addition, the value of welding parameters could remain stable in formerly predetermined value rapidly and automatically, by adopting double closed-loop feedback of welding voltage and current, as well as the incrementally digital PID controlling algorithm with dead zone, so as to improve operational performance and control precision of the entire equipment. At the same time, all aspects of the system’s hardware and software had been set a series of anti-jamming measures to ensure the ability of anti-interference and the stability of the welding process.The debugging of hardware and software in submerged arc welding machine indicated that the system basically accomplished the anticipant goals. And that was to say, the parameters presetting and controlling system of arc welding power source formed an independent and multi-purpose machine, which could achieve multiple groups of welding parameters’ preset and maintain the value as power-fail. Meanwhile, this system can collect and Supervise welding parameters in real time, and in part to enhance the digitalization of the original welding machine.
