The international welding equipments' status in quo and the control method of submerged-arc welding are discussed. It analyzes that the primary MZ (E) -1250/1000 automatic submerged-arc welding machine has many shortages, for example, its' controlling in real time is not very strong, it can not be adjusted convenient, and it has no strong function of pre-setting parameters. We optimize the MZ (E) -1250/1000 automatic submerged-arc welding machine control box and welding process on the basis of taking up strongpoint of overseas homogeneous equipments.Micro computer 89E564RD is regarded as the control center; LCD and figure panel table displaying are adopted at the same time, witch can display more information markedly; it can realize parameter presetting by software system and make welding parameter value reach presetting parameter value by adopting welding current and voltage and digital closed loop control. Computer controls all welding process. Welding process is very complexity for its strong time domain and much nonlinearity, so it's difficult to build an accurate mathematic model. For getting steady welding current and voltage, the system adopts principle in self-learning, double feedback configuration, and PI control method.Via software debugging, hardware debugging and testing, the system indicates that the system achieves the demand of designed preliminarily. Using this system can reduced operation, relieve labor intensity, improve control precision and welding quality.
