Maleopimaric acid anhydride is one of the most important chemicalproducts in modified rosin, not only improved some defects in the progress ofproduction, and developed a series of new products which had multipurpose.Zinc maleopimaric and Copper maleopimaric were synthesized withmaleopimaric anhydride as raw material. The main contents and results weresummarized as follows:1. Zinc maleopimaric were prepared with maleopimaric anhydride, zincacetate and sodium hydroxide as material. Maleopimaric acid was synthesizedfrom maleopimaric anhydride in high pressure reaction kettle, then react withzinc acetate in ethanol solution.With the discuss of single factor conditions inexperiment,the optimum reactions condition were certained as follows:n(maleopimaric acid):n(zinc acetate)=1:3, at55℃for5h, the yield ofMPAZn could be over93%. The content of zinc in MPAZn was determinedby EDTA complexometric titration and Inductively Coupled Plasma-AtomicEmission Spectrometry (ICP-AES). The structure and thermal properties ofMPAZn were analyzed and characterized by Fourier transform infraredspectrometer (FT-IR), Scanning electron microscope (SEM), Energydispersive X-ray microanalysis (EDAX), X-ray diffraction (XRD), BET andTG-DSC.2. Copper maleopimaric was synthesized by reaction of maleopimaricanhydride, Copper acetate and sodium hydroxide in ethanol solution. Theoptimum mole ratio n(maleopimaric acid):n(copper acetate)=1:4, reactiontime5h, reaction temperature55℃were gotten through the experiment ofsingle factor, and the yield was96%. The content of copper in product weremeasured with EDTA complexometric titration,and Inductively Coupled Plasma-Atomic Emission Spectrometry (ICP-AES). The structure and thermalproperties of MPACu were investigated by Fourier transform infraredspectrometer (FT-IR), Scanning electron microscope (SEM), Energydispersive X-ray microanalysis (EDAX), X-ray diffraction (XRD), BET andTG-DSC3. The applications of Zinc Maleopimaric on PVC heat stabilizers andthe catalytic performance of copper Maleopimaric were studied. The resultshow that zinc maleopimarate has good thermal stability and also has goodsynergistic effect with calcium stearate; Copper maleopimarate has certaincatalytic activity on fennel oil catalytic oxidation reactions.
