Global Environmental Issues And Global Governance

Since human beings entered the industrial age, the environment problem becomes more and more serious, and gradually shows a trend of globalization. The global environmental problems are no longer in a certain field, but become multi-level, multi-angle problems:they are economic problems, also the problems of technology and sense, they are even the hot issues of international politics. For the purpose of the increasingly serious environmental problems, humans began indefatigable effort from national to international. The western countries firstly set up environmental protection departments in the domestic, then came to the international, several countries held the United Nations Conference several times. After that, environmental problems have become the international issues which need to be jointly coped with in the international society.The global governance theory, focused on the global, committed to the practice in the international society, is an important angle of view of the environmental problems. The theory includes multiple main strengths, not only the traditional sovereign state, but also the emerging strength such as governmental organizations and intergovernmental organizations. In environmental governance, the strengths are in mutual dependence, mutual cooperation, and construct global environmental governance with practice. Based on this understanding, the article does a research on the issue of the status quo and development of the diversified subjects in the international environment problems. In the course of the study, the author points out its problems, and attempts better ways to deal with these problems.First, the thesis talks about the global governance theory. From the rising and the development of the theory, the author gives an analysis and a summary of the global governance theory. All what the author does provides theoretical support for the following environmental problems.The second part is how to use the theory to analyze global environmental problems. In this part, the author points out that theory is meaningful to the problems. It is important to reunderstanding the international behavior body and analyzes the role of each current international behavior body. Obviously, the diversified subjects play different roles. Especially, the Non government organizations play a great role in the process of global governance, meanwhile, the common view on environmental governance promotes and improves the global environment governance system.In the third part, the author takes the important global climate conference meeting "Copenhagen Climate Change Conference" as an example, analyzes how the subjects address the global environmental problems at the meeting. Among them, the author focuses on three kinds of behavior subjects; they are the government body, international organizations, and non-governmental organizations behavior body. According to the combination of the theory and examples, the author further explores the global environmental governance, and evaluates the status of the meeting in the process of global environmental governance.
