Spherical pressure vessels have more advantages such as less floor area covering,high-pressure capability,on-site installation and transport facilitates than other pressurevessels.For such as less floor area covering,It is mainly used for storing gas and liquefied gasand widely used in petroleum,chemical industry,city gas,metallurgy and other fields.Thedirection of the spherical tank technology development at home and abroad are high parametersparameters and large-scale.Large spherical tanks can reduce the investment which is used forstorage’s capacity per unit volume,save covers,save the cost of ancillary facilities and manageeasily. So spherical tanks to large-scale development is an inevitable trend.In terms of oversize spherical tanks,foreign countries of advanced industrial theconstruction of10000m~3-20000m~3spherical tank is already very common,in China,due to thecritical design and manufacturing technology has not fully resolved yet, the spherical tankabove10000m~3is entirely dependent on imports,not only the construction of the high cost,longcycle,but also by others.China’s current production volume of the largest spherical tank is10000m~3,no one designs15000m~3spherical tank in our country yet. Therefore,in order toproduce the oversize spherical tanks for independent property rights,complete the first timedesign and Stress Evaluation of15000m~3butane spherical tanks,this article do the followingwork:For there are no related standards for the structure and size of this spherical tankpillars,under the operating conditions,SolidWorksSimulation method is applied,conditions aboutdifferent pillars of the spherical tank wall thickness,connection plates of different thickness,different height of upper pillars are analyzed. Based on the results,it selects the optimal value toachieve the purpose of optimization of the design on the pillar, and the stress that the pillars ofthe plane impact on the symmetry spherical shell are analyzed, the results will provides thebasis for the design of super-large spherical tanks in the future.To analyze the wind and seismic load conditions of this spherical tank by the use ofANSYS software,this is used to assess the security of15000m~3butane spherical tank’soperation in the relatively harsh natural environment. In the wind and seismic load analysis,thetransient dynamics is the basic theoretical basis.In this wind load analysis of this spherical tank,its maximum equivalent stress to withstand is431MPa,which is less than the equivalent stress,assessed as safe;But when this spherical tank withstands seismic load, the maximum equivalentstress is485MPa,it is easy to cause damage, Therefore, this article take measures to increase thenumber of prop,and analyze seismic load condition of this15000m~3butane spherical tank’s20 pillars,thereby enabling the spherical tank safe operation. In order to study the movements andstress changes of this spherical tank’s overall structure in the seismic load excitation process,this article extract the time course curve of node stress and strain on the equatorial junction ofpillars and spherical shell.Accurate calculation of spherical shell plate size is very important in the process of orangevalve type and mixed type spherical tank’s design.This paper provides an effective methodwhich is Delphi (a tool of visualization、application and program’s development on windowsplatform)and techniques of specific programming to complete the size of spherical petal’scalculation efficiently and directly. The spherical shell plate size results calculated would bemore accurate by this program and the calculation is more simple.The program has a certainapplication prospects.The design of conventional spherical shell plate was calculated by handcount or Excel.These methods would be low efficiency and not intuitive, error-prone.This paperhas calculated the spherical shell plate size of15000m~3butane spherical tank according toDelphi which is a program of visualization.
