The sustainable development of human society should strictly stock the natural resources to maintain sustainable utilization. Therefore, intervention of human to ecological system should be limited in the limitation of ecological carrying capacity. The core of ecological footprint assessment study aims at putting human utilization of natural resources and their own needs in natural reproduction limitation. Ecological footprint analysis theory and method introduces the ecological productive land to describe all sorts of natural resources, brings equivalence factor and productivity coefficient in its system to achieve additivity and comparability of all kinds of ecological productive land in countries and regions, which makes the ecological footprint analysis both has the advantage of wide applied range, and the advantage of comparison analysis. Therefore, ecological footprint is widely accepted by many countries and academic circles. Comparing Ecological Footprint with Ecological Capacity can calculate ecological deficit or ecological surplus, which has a significant quantification function. Rees and Wackernagel method is a fundamental way of ecological footprint model, which has deepened to complete and showed the Widely application prospects. The relevant questions and multi-dimensional evaluations can hold the developing way of EF. On how to achieve sustainable development in reality, human beings have done some significant progresses in exploring essence and discipline from the macroscopic level, but it is short in the microscopic level. Therefore, it is extremely necessary to deepen the study on it.
