As the development of information technology, monitoring system which is an effective method to detect, control and manage in the process of production has been widely used. The20,000tons hard-deformation alloy horizontal extruder is a large-scale hydraulic press under construction, which will be applied in the area of aeronautics and astronautics. It is an important fundamental manufacture equipment in China that requires a long service life and high machining precision. However, the adverse circumstances of working environment results in lots of impact factors such as vibration, shock, oddment, elevated temperature and physical deterioration, which would bring harm to equipment and cause fault. Therefore, research on monitoring system is of great significance.In this paper, the main research work and conclusions are summarized as following:(1) Based on the analysis of the function of the extruder monitoring system, the overall scheme design was accomplished according to the scattered detecting control and centralized monitoring control management principle, including the overall structure, detect system scheme and software and hardware scheme. A second level PLC distributing model control system which include WinCC, main and frae station is established. The characteristic and design procedure of selected PLC and WinCC software was described in detail. Data is communicated by Profibus bus to realiaze the centralized monitoring and scattered control.(2) By comparison between different configuration software and function demand of monitoring system, WinCC was selected as the monitoring software of host computer to accomplish the research and development of host computer software. Utilizing the way of direct-call runtime library and third-party direct-read of WinCC variables, the communication between the host computer and data acquisition card was finished indirectly, which realize the high-speed data collection of unloading pressure.(3) To achieve the experimental test of20,000tons extruder, a multifunctional hydraulic experiment station was designed and conducted. Energy accumulator was used as the device to store and release the oil and energy, which can provides instant high pressure. The overall experiment system consists of mechanical devices, hydraulic and monitoring system.(4) According to part function of the monitoring system, laser shaft alignment system, unloading monitoring system and speed control system was verified by experiment. Results showed that the host computer could realize the speed control, monitoring and high-speed data collection.
