With the rapid development of industrial technology, the billet identification automation technology become the more and more higher, in order to realize the traceability of production process of steel, and the quality can also be controlled, it is very necessary to build the monitoring system and the database of end surface billet marking. Using the configuration software to carry on the design of the monitoring system, can effectively realize the real-time monitoring of production on the spot, the information transmission, information storage and information query functions, thus to ensure the smooth and efficient production process. In this paper, the main work and results are as follows:1.Using configuration software WinCC as host unit, according to the specific requirements of the production process of billet to build the whole logo equipment work interface and the upper machine design scheme, including monitoring menu, dynamic simulation in the field devices, file and display the message alarm display, data acquisition, etc.2.WinCC database file. To Use VB and SQL Server database design data information report, store archived data to SQL Server database and save by querying to Excel table, has realized the real-time monitoring of the process of billet identification, information transmission, information storage and information query functions.3.For steel mill high temperature, high humidity and complex electromagnetic environment, considering economic principles, billet marking system choose industrial Ethernet, using TCP/IP protocol to communicate. Siemens WinCC via TCP/IP protocol implementation and upper machine PLC communication, and complete the data exchange.Through industrial field trial showed that the proposed identification equipment working properly, the configuration of PC system can monitor identify normal state, basically achieved the design requirements.
