Slurry long-distance pipeline transportation was an new mode of transportdeveloped since1960s, and attracted domestic researchers’ attention in1980s. Withthe development of pipeline engineering, numerical simulations of transient flow wererequested by modern design of slurry pipeline. Thus, several institutes began study onthis subject in1990s. Up to now, tow-phase transient flow is still under developalthough single-phase transient flow is well-develop. Few researchers had developedsoftwares for tow-phase transients simulation, but for various reasons they did notrelease them. Therefore it made sense that this thesis developed a commercialsoftware for numerical simulation of slurry transient flow and unify the databaseconceptual schema. This software could help design pipeline for commercial materialtransportation.During the course of this research, following achievements have been made:1. The complete procedure of method of Wasp was given. Method ofFeiXiangjun based on method of Wasp, which was applied to transients frictioncaculation, was compared by experiment results, and its accuracy was proved.2. The continual and momentum equations for the slurry transient flow werededuced using fluid mechanics and theory of two-phase flow. In the course ofdeducing the relative characteristic equations, two methods were compared.Differences between them were analysed.3. Common boundary conditions appear in slurry pipeline were deduced.4. An open database conceptual schema for the simulation software was set upwith details of the procedure. It’s convenient for administratiors to append moreelement data to it in the future and for users to develop their applications.5. A software, named HydraulicTransport, for simulation of slurry transient flowwith varies functions was developed by Visual C++2008. Modularization was adopted,which packed up key classes, static flow computation functions and transient flowcomputation functions respectively. Convenience for software update and customfollowed from it. In addition, multitrhead was introduced to accelerate thecomputation. It reduced about seven eighths time cost.6. The software, HydraulicTransport, was applied to one pipeline for ironconcentrate ore slurry. Accuracy of the computation was discussed.
