Nano modification of Nano organic-montmorillonite (oMMT) can greatly improve mechanical and thermal stability performance of polycarbonate. But PC resin’s high glass transition temperature and melt melting viscosity makes Melting method preparation of good scattered nanocomposites difficult. So, crosslinkable monomer Diallyl orthophthalate(DAOP) and high temperature initiator2,3-Dimethyl-2,3-diphenylbutane (DMDPB) were mixed with PC resins.This is to low down the melting viscosity, to improve system’s processability and the dispersion of oMMT,Besides, DMDPB which can initiate radical polymerization of DAOP at high temperature.Part one:The laboratorial report of PC/DAOP solidify blend have shown that DAOP can reduce the viscosity of the blend significantly, and the more of DAOP in the blend, the lower viscosity of the system.Besides, the adding of DAOP can reduction system glass transition temperature significantly. The good compatibility between PC and DAOP was proved by DMA. And good mechanical property of PC/DAOP/DMDPB was shown when the weights percentage of DMDPB was10%.Part tow:The PC/DAOP/oMMT blends experimental results have shown that the adding of oMMT could low down the system’S viscosity. When the weights percentage of oMMT was smaller(≤6%), systems’ viscosities in low shear rate don’t Show simple linear relationship, systems’ viscosities are decided by the competition besides oMMT layers’ slipping,orientation and tangling of the PC chains tied to oMMT layers.The laboratorial report of PC/DAOP/oMMT blends prepared by two different mixing ways before melting molten extrusion have shown that oMMT interlamellar spacing is influenced by the weights percentage of oMMT and DAOP. Along with the increase of the weights percentage of oMMT, oMMT interlamellar spacing become smaller. But oMMT interlamellar spacing gets big along with the increasing of the weights percentage of oMMT. In the same oMMT weights percentage conditions, a good Spreading effect was got when composite was prepared by DAOP and DMDPB1hour’s mechanical agitation and then mechanically agitated for1h with PC.Part three:The adding of oMMT can promote material thermal performance and mechanical properties. The more oMMT, the higher Tg of material. Besides, the composites perpared by high-speed mixing, and miniature extrusion has the high glass transition temperature of the material. The laboratorial report of PC/DAOP/DMDPB/oMMT system have shown that oMMT can promote the tensile strength, tensile modulus, bending strength, bending modulus and hardness. In the same oMMT weights percentage conditions, a good mechanical property was got when composite was prepared by DAOP and DMDPB1hour’s mechanical agitation and then mechanically agitated for1h with PC.
