Coal is the main energy resource and coal industry is the pillar industry of energy in China. However, larger-scale exploitation and utilization not only bring great economic benefits to our society but also create many environmental problems. At present, subsidence is the major environmental problem in coal mining, and because of the large scale of subsidence area, there are some related issues, such as the relocation, the living and production, the education and employment to the residents in subsidence areas, and the pollution control, land reclamation and ecology restoration to the living environment.Huainan mining area, which has the most abundant coal resources in the eastern region of China, has a long mining history. There have been some subsidence areas during the past decades. With the rapid development of national economy, subsidence area of coal mining is becoming larger as more efforts are added to speed up the exploitation. Therefore, data analysis and collapse trend prediction are important tasks in the comprehensive management of subsidence areas of coal mining.We analyze the law of surface movement of coal mining subsidence in Huainan City systematically by collecting data in mining areas. Then, according to the result of comparison with other methods, the probability integration method is employed to build the mining subsidence model. Several management measures are proposed based on the problems in the current treatment of mining subsidence.The key points in this paper are summarized as follows:(1) Summarize the research status of mining subsidence all over the world, investigate the natural resources and the social and economic development of Huainan City, and analyze the distribution and characteristics of mining subsidence areas.(2) Explore the law of surface movement according to the data of coal mining areas. Firstly, the approach of probability integration is chosen to predict the trend of subsidence for each mining area through comparing with numerical simulation method, negative exponential function method, and typical curve method. Then, making use of mine subsidence forecast system, the overall trend of subsidence can be obtained, and the detail analysis of the year2012、2015、2020and the final result can also be acquired. (3) Analyze the problems of management in Huainan mining subsidence in terms of the prediction results and present situation, and propose the effective measures from the aspects of government guidance, village relocation, land reclamation, and environment protection.The subsidence of coal mining is a dynamic, long-term process and the scientific prediction of subsidence trend can effectively avoid repeated work in construction, relocation, and investment. Based on the prediction results, the short and long dated strategies should be developed for the integrated management. These measures can not only contribute to the protection of lives and properties in subsidence areas but also promote common development of mining enterprises and local economy.Figure [18] table [24] reference [69]...
