Schiff base is a kind of very important ligand,it can coordinate with most of metal ion toform metal-shiff base complexes Schiff base and its metal complexes have attracted ourattention,as these complexes are widely used in the fields of biochemistry, medicine, catalysis, analysis, anti-corrosion, functional materials etc. It is well-known that complexes inO-bridged systems the M-O-M angle plays a vital role in determining the nature of magneticexchange between the metal ions. In this paper,we have designed and synthesized sixtransition metal complexes that contain O-bridged systems as follow:1. Two ligands (H3L1and H3L2) have been prepared by the reactions of2-tert-Butyl-4-ethyl-phenol, formaldehyde and2-amino propanol or3-amino-1-propanol. Thereaction of FeCl36H2O and H3L1or H3L2gives two dinuclear Fe(Ⅲ) complex [Fe2L12]1and [Fe2L22]2, respectively, which have been characterized by elemental analysis,1H NMRspectrum,X-ray crystallography, UV–Vis spectroscopic techniques, magnetic measurementsetc.2. Two dinuclear iron(Ⅲ) complexes(3and4) have been synthesized by the reactions of3-t-butyl-4-hydroxy anisole, formaldehyde and2-amino propanol or3-amino-1-propanol withFeCl36H2O, and characterized by elemental analysis,X-ray crystallography, UV–Vis spectr-oscopic techniques magnetic measurements etc.3. Two dinuclear Cu(Ⅱ) complexes(5and6) have been synthesized by the reactions of3-amino-1-propanol,formaldehyde and2-tert-Butyl-4-ethylphenol,or3-t-butyl-4-hydroxyani-sole with CuCl22H2O, and characterized by elemental analysis, X-ray crystallography, UV–Vis spectroscopic techniques.
