In the production process of cold rolled strip, the stability of winding tension not only putsforward higher request in rolling process condition, but also has a great influence on board type,size accuracy and the quality of their products. Based on the cold rolled silicon steel productionline, this paper studies the control characteristics and control mode of coiling tension system,with Siemens T400craft board as its heart to realize constant tension control of winding process.It firstly introduces the hardware environment of winding tension control system, alsoanalyses several scheme of the constant tension control. After studying the winding tensioncontrol system which is based on the linear velocity of constant, the mathematical model of thewinding system is established. And then combining with the change rules of parameters incoiling tension control system, this paper studies the adaptive PID control algorithm, andestablishes the system simulation model with Simulink. Through the analysis of the comparisonof simulation results, it confirms that, compared to the conventional PID control, adaptive PIDcontrol has good anti-jamming and higher tension control precision. At the same time iteliminates the influence which is caused by changes of the system parameters and reaches therequirements of the system performance.
