In order to further study high-speed turning of micro shaft and construct desktop factory, one micro high-speed turning unit is designed and developed.The main work completed in this research involves: Firstly, the selection and design of of each parts of micro high-speed turning unit has been done, and3-D model is built up. Secondly, the weaknesses of micro high-speed turning unit have been determined by static and dynamic analysis with ANSYS, and structural optimization has been done for those weaknesses. Finally, the theoretical model of the cutting force and surface roughness is established after the analysis for influence factor of machining accuracy and surface roughness in micro shaft parts turning, and in order to provide theoretical basis for the high quality processing of micro shaft parts, a series of simulations and experiments have been done for analysis the influence of tool and cutting parameters on cutting force and surface roughness.
