Eco-environmental Evaluation Of YuXi

In the world today, such environmental issues like global warming, serious atmospherepollution, soil erosion, land desertification, decrease of cultivate land, exceeding of carbonemission, lack of water source and damage of ecological equilibrium become to the key factorsthat puzzle and impede the progress and development of human society. How to protect theenvironment is now a concern of world wide research. In order to coordinate the environment anddevelopment of human society, to make use of environment well improving the human progress,as well as to completely play the function of ecotope, people had done a plenty of researches andefforts. Therefore the evaluation of environment seems very crucial because it provides studybasis and reference for doing such researches. Only when based on the correct evaluation ofenvironment, people, then, can better understand the nature, use the nature and respect the nature.This paper, studying on the remote sensing figure and other relevant documents and taking“3S”technology (RS, GIS and GPS) as means, comprehensively evaluate the ecologicalsurroundings of Yuxi Area of Chongqing. In addition, based on the Expert Evaluation Method, thepaper set up a rating mechanism for the ecological surroundings of Yuxi Area and proposedseveral suggestions for local ecological planning and sustainable development according to theresults of evaluation. The achievements are as follow:（1）Though processing the TM remote sensing images of the study area,got its land-usestatus and land-use classifications、vegetative cover extent、water channel distribution、NDVI andsoil humidity.Gained the area’s DEM、slope、aspect、water system and soil distribution asevaluation factors by Vector-quantificating topographic maps.（2）Established the grades mechanism on the basis of experts scoring methods.Scored thestudy area though researching different influences to the ecological environment caused bydifferent factors,and then got integrated assessment by superimposing those graded layers.（3）Reclassify the integrated assessment into five levels,and each level shows itscorresponding ecological environment standard in the west regin of Chongqing,and these resultsalways have specific ecological significances.（4）By the classification and analysis on the results,figured out that the situation of theecology environment in the west regin of Chongqing was generally above the average case.Whenmade the fourth level as the standard of good situation of the ecology environment,the goodecological rate of the west regin of Chongqing will be above70%.（5） Basced on the results、the local ecological environment characteristics and the localdevelopment demands,Put forward the ecological environment planning ideas and then discussed the sustainable development strategy in the future of the west regin of Chongqing.
