In this paper, rolling-cut shear auxiliary analysis software which realized therolling-cut shear parametric motion simulation is developed through secondarydevelopment method on the plateform of SolidWorks. By using this auxiliary software,user can be convenient to get trajectory of up-blade under different structure size ofrolling-cut shear, so as to realize structure optimization for rolling-cut shear. This auxiliarysoftware can also output shear force, torque of eccentric shafts and other mechanicalparameters for the components intensity checking and to provide references for choosingthe motor.Firstly, secondary development method on the plateform of SolidWorks was studied,and this paper gives an overview of principle, tool and form of this secondarydevelopment method. Various methods of parameterized parts or assembly areemphatically discussed, and all of this methods’ application environment are also analyzedin this paper.Based on.in-depth study of secondary development method, by using SolidWorksAPI, a auxiliary analysis software has been established with VB6.0, which is based onSolidWorks and motion simulation component COSMOSMotion. This auxiliary softwarethat can realize a serier of function including model parametric, motion simulation,simulation data extraction and processing makes people not have to do lots of work whichis high repeatability when they want to some analysis of rolling-cut shear throngh motionsimulation software.In the case of that trajectory of up-blade is known, the auxiliary software cancalculate shear force with B.B. Noshari formulation which is classic and used tocalculation shear force for shear machine with oblique edge. Through the establishmentbalance equation of rolling-cut shear, the auxiliary software can output force of connectingrods and torque of eccentric shafts.In the access to engineering drawing and based on a vast amount of literature, cuttingmodel is build in DEFORM which is a famous software used to finite element analysis. Itwas proved to be reasonable that B.B. Noshari formulation was used in the auxiliary analysis software by making a comparison between shear force caculated by B.B. Noshariformulation and shear force obtained from finite element analysisThrough DEFORME secondary development method, a motion control subroutinehas been compiled with FORTRAN. This subroution combined with former processor ofDEFORM solves the problem that DEFORM is not able to achieve the up-blade’s motionwhich is complicated control, so that result from finite element analysis is more close tothe actual...
