Yarn feeder is an important component of the textile machinery, its market demand becomes more and more. As the manual assembly has low productivity and high cost, Yarn feeder it isn’t obviously keep up with the market demand in quantity and quality of products, automatic assembly will replace the manual assembly is inevitable. At Present, in China, production of the key component parts of yarn feeder, such as its shell, is mainly by manually assembling, no automatic assembly systems. Assembly automatic production line of the shell of the yarn feeder has very good equipment in other countries. If we import that equipment, that could be a great expense which is hard for us to afford. So, to develop auto assembly lines of our country is very important.In this Paper, according to an enterprise needs to design a system of the shell of the yarn feeder automatic assembly, it consist of automatic feeding, automatic assembly, automatic printing and automatic unloading system.First, this paper introduces the development of automatic assembly lines in the world, and the automatic assembly line of the shell of the yarn feeder and its components. Analysis of mechanical systems and hydraulic systems, and a detailed analysis of the automatic assembly line process and control requirements are completed.Second, the overall design of the control system of the automatic assembly line and the whole structure of the control system framework and software design are given. Programmable logic controller (PLC) is the core of the control system.the rotation and positioning control of the rotary table、up and down, left and right feed motions of air cylinders and oil cylinders are completed, to achieve the the assembly and printing of different components. The operation panel can be easy and safe to operate, to complete the corresponding action.At last, the design of the control system is given, containing hardware and software design. The control system hardware is composed of PLC、operation panel、servo drives, servo motors、solenoid valve and limit switch, and electrical lines are planned,containing hardware overall line、servo control line、general signals control line. The Software system of the control system is designed Based on Sequential Function Chart (SFC), By analysis of program design ideas and the main control functions, and preparation of the ladder diagram, automation assembly of the shell the yarn feeders are achieved. After the testing, the system is stable, safe, reliable, efficient, basically achieve the purpose of the design. It is not only to fill in a blank in china, and meet the company requirement, and provide a important opportunity to capture the domestic market, and then to seize the international market. Therefore it presents high commercial and research value.
