19thcentury, people develop the cable for industrial use. With improvements inprocessing and manufacturing materials, wire rope is widely used in major industries anddepartments of national economy such as coal, metallurgy, transportation, construction and soon for the advantages of high strength, flexible, light weight, stable and reliable operation andno noise under dynamic load and overload capability. The service life of the steel rope andsafety evaluation in the process of using is important to ensure the safe, reliable operation andprevent accidents. On the other side, it can prolong the service life and saving resources.This paper takes the mine hoist wire rope as the object of study, in order to providingreal-time assessment of in-service wire rope which is necessary for the detecting of minehoisting steel wire rope. The method of permanent magnet for steel wire rope detection cannotbe applied to this type of testing requirements. Therefore, we put forward feed-through coilselectromagnetic magnetization method Basing on basic principle of magnetic flux leakage.the method of retractable current magnetization are researched for the loading and unloadingof the probe, and feasibility experiments was developed. We develop the magnetization makeup of half round copper with spiral structure by a special processing technique. Combined thedetection of magnetic sensitive sensor, we developed Detecting sensor for high speeddetection of steel wire rope, Coordination with auxiliary mechanical and electrical controlsystem, a kind of automatic detecting system with multi rope synchronous operation aredeveloped.To applying the automatic detection system of wire rope to the field on the basis ofexperimental research, combing PLC programming control with hydraulic drive system, manydesigning works and online testing are completed according to the different lifting system andoperating conditions, good results are obtained and eventually succeed on many occasions.
