Personal Environmental Behavior And Its Influencing Factors In The Low-carbon-city Construction

Environmental problems have a long history, but with global warming, the countries all over the world are paying more and more attention to the emissions of greenhouse gases, so the concept of "low carbon" arises at the historic moment, every country began to explore the way of low-carbon-city construction that accrding with their own national characteristics. Our country also formulated relevant policies and regulations, explore the way of low-carbon-city construction actively. However, as a social man, his behavior, especially environmental protection acts worthy of attention in the low-carbon-city construction.This paper’s object is social man, and with the two survey data as the reference, explore the present situation and problems of personal environmental protection behavior in low-carbon-city construction, finding and analyzing the various factors affecting the personal environmental behavior, based on these, to promote low-carbon-city construction more smoothly and to provide useful guidance for developing more in line with the actual low-carbon policy for our country.At first, the research found that individuals’attitude to the environmental protection is more positive in the low-carbon-city construction through data analysis, but the participation of the environmental behavior is relatively low; at the same time, personal environmental behavior is interest-oriented. Based on these, this research further analyze the reasons leading to this situation, the factors that affect individual environmental behavior. On the basis of the establishment of research assumption, this paper analyzes gender, place of residence, educational level, occupation, work unit and revenue impact of individual environmental behavior. The results showed that gender, residence and occupation have a significant effect on the individual environmental behavior. This paper argues that China’s low-carbon-city construction is still in its infancy, the individual environmental behavior tend to be traditional and conservative and with an interest-oriented and the characteristics of "low-cost". Finally, the paper combines the results of data analysis arguing that encouraging individuals take the environmental behavior positively, actively and consciously is the important content of promoting the low-carbon-city construction smoothly of China.
