In parts processing,modular machine tool has the advantages of high efficiency, lowdefective rate, adapt to changing requirements and so on. It used in automobiles, machinery,paper making and other industries widely. The majority existing modular machine tools inenterprises are controlled by relay. It is difficult to meet the production requirements of thecompany such as electrical fault frequency, repair difficulties, after many years of service. Apractical and economic method is the use of programmable control way.This paper mainly studies the control of general machine parts and realizes the PLCcontrol of the modular machine tool, It has positive significance in save production costs,effective use of existing resources to create the maximum benefit. The book is related tomodular machine tool PLC control scattered and no series, This topic researching has played avaluable role to related articles and compiled.This paper analyzes the common parts of the modular machine tools, including cuttingpower head, slippery platform, rotary worktable, power box, pillar, base, etc. Described Ontheir composition, structure, and application, show some manufacturers product appearanceby the way of pictures. It has made the detailed analysis and research in these three aspects,the hydraulic system action is achieved, electric control principle and transformed to the PLCcontrol.On the important control component, such as hydraulic slider platform, hydraulicrotary worktable and manipulator.On basis of the statement of the PLC application and typeselection, we selected the Siemens S7-300series PLC, for the modular machine tool andgeneral components’ controler.Put forward relevant control requirements and design of ZH1X series combined millingmachine electrical control principle diagram according to its parameter, function and theaction of workbench1XG system. Design of PLC control scheme, for hardware configuration,I/O address, handle PLC program finally, realization of all the features of the control ofmachine tool and set up the work instructions link. It has great progress in easy operationperformance, reduce failure rate, improve production efficiency. We using S7-PLCSIM forcontrol simulation, ensure the system efficiency and reliability finally.
