According to the actual production of1730mm cold rolling mill of Baosteel Cold Mill Plant and the thickness control theory, in this paper, the thickness control system of the1730mm PL-TCM is analyzed and researched. the control strategy and the control model is established.The thickness control system is mainly based on principles of P-H diagram, you can use gap adjustment to eliminate the strip thickness deviation. According to the mass flow theory, the actual strip thickness deviation can be adjusted by mill speed. The precision of speed adjustment is high.The AGC system uses some control loops, including feed forward loops, feedback loops and mass flow loops. Feed forward loop is based on imported thickness deviation. Feedback loop is based on exit thickness deviation. The mass flow control is based on the thickness of the mill entry and the strip speed of the entry and exit of the mill.In stand1, the model of conventional mass flow control and extended mass flow control model is used and analyzed; in stand5, the control model A and model B and model C is used and analyzed. This is the theoretical foundation of the1730mm PL-TCM thickness control precision.With extended mass flow control technology, the entrance tension roll is defined as "stand0". you can precisely control the flow into the mill. Avoiding the low accuracy of roll gap adjustment.With the extended mass flow control strategies and the control model B and model C. The strip thickness control deviation within±1%is more than99.30%of the strip length.
