Along with the computer technology and the rapid development of Internet technology, the virtual manufacturing technology is becoming a new research in current manufacturing, virtual machining process simulation is the key technology of virtual manufacturing. In order to shorten the development cycle of numerical control, to reduce the error rate NC code and also to utilize the network technology, to share manufacturing resources in the Web page and display own NC products.This paper develops a CNC millingsimulation system based on Web. Using advantages of Java language and JavaScript on the network and virtual reality modeling language (VRML) technology, we realize the browsing3d products in the Web, movement simulation and assembly simulation.In addition, using OpenGL (Open Graphics libraries) which has strong3d Graphics display ability, especially its animation techniques and double buffer technology, with VisualC++6.0for programming environment, completed the surface maching process simulation. This works include the following aspects:(1) Through researching several traditional methods of developing numerical simulation system, and advances numerical simulation development plan basing on web.Through VRML, and JavaScript development simulation environment, using VC++and OpenGL to realize the surface machining emulation, designed the interface of the system simulation.(2) For CNC processing center machine structure is analyzed, using Pro/E and3d graphics display plugin VRML establish the machine simulation model. Then using advantages of Java language and JavaScript on the network combined with virtual reality VRML technology completes movement and the assembly simulation of machine in Web page.(3) Researched the key technology of CNC system simulation, especially researched modeling technology, using discrete vector method of basing on triangles, established the workpiece and tools of discrete model, and studied tool path planning.(4) Researched on data processing of NC programming, and translated NC code into the computer can identify code, in the process also won the tool path data. (5) Researched Several material removal algorithm, proposed using discrete vector algorithm to realize the material removal, and the processing of non-circular surface approximation of the interpolation algorithm, using vc++as platform for development, combined with OpenGL3d graphics library realized the surface machining process simulation.
