As the development of economy, the environment problem is becoming moreand more serious. Scientific exploiting of mineral resources and protecting theecological environment has become an important subject of study. In recent years, theresearch work of mine environment has been spread out in our country, in which themine geological environment assessment is one of the most important content.At the present time, with the development of remote sensing technology, the dataof commercial resources satellite has much higher spatial resolution and spectralresolution. It is an inevitable nationwide trend to utilize RS to monitor the distributionof mineral occurrence and solid waste and environmental problems that triggered bymineral development. At the same time, GIS has been widely used in agriculture,forestry, geological mining, resource management, environmental monitoring, disasterevaluation, etc., to provide auxiliary decision making support for social sustainabledevelopment. This article uses remote sensing and geographic information systemtechnology as the foundation to evaluate the mine geological environment on theresearch background of Hegang.Hegang is located in the northeast of Heilongjiang Province as the important coalproduction base of our country. It has found about35kinds of minerals in the coal andgraphite mining district. Coal is the most important mineral resources and the provedup coal mines distribute mainly in southeastern tip of this work area where it formsthe famous Hegang coal filed. The mine environment remote sensing investigation ofHegang consists of geo hazard and hidden dangers investigations, environmentpollution investigations and ecological environment restoring and harnessing investigations. On the basis of single factor evaluation, there is a comprehensiveassessment of mine geological environment quality according to the different mineenvironment characteristics, such as distribution range, growth situation anddevelopment tendency. Square cells are used for assessment unit. Comprehensiveassessment model is structured by using analytic hierarchy process (AHP) to an indexsystem weight assignment. Importance scales should be acquired according to theexpert scoring and experience data. The analyses and evaluations are carried out onthe MAPGIS and ArcGIS platforms.Through the above-mentioned work, quantitative and qualitative evaluations ofthe mine geological environmental quality will be put out. The evaluate results areclassified to find out the main environmental geological problems, so that we canmake effective decisions for the protection and improvement of mine geologicalenvironment. We make it possible the protection will keep pace with the development.It is of great theoretical significance and practical value to sustainable development ofHegang coal field.
