The21st century is the time for china to develop it’s manufacturing industry rapidly.Fixture is the core equipment in modern manufacturing system. In the process of machining,the manufacturing precision of the workpiece is mainly decided by the cutting tool’s cuttingability and precision that fixture can provide. Fixture provide necessary environment forcutting with reasonable fixture workpiece position, the right way of clamping and appropriateclamping force.Based on mathematical modeling and finite element analysis, the accuracy of the fixturesystem are analyzed. The mathematical modelling can be divided into two sections:positioning analysis and clamping analysis. In positioning analysis, the workpiece and fixturebody are specialized as a rigid and the mathematical model of the workpiece are made to limitthe freedom of the workpiece. In clamping analysis, the workpiece and the fixture body arespecialized as elastomer and the surface friction is considered to measure the stability anddeformation of the clamped workpiece. During the finite element analysis part, throughloading clamping force and cutting force on the model that has been divided into finiteelement parts, we can get the deformation of the workpiece and the fixture body in differentconditions.With the help of these two kinds of analysis method, we can get different error in thecondition of different initial parameters. By comparing these different error, we can getreasonable initial parameters. These initial parameters are the number of locating components,location mode, clamping mode, clamping force size, the order of clamping force, etc. Thisprocess can also be understand as the optimization of fixture system.In the application of CAD technology, the method of UG second development is widelyused. It can generate the function that the designer need in UG menu directly. In order torealize the target of computer aided fixture designing, the function of generating new fixturethrough changing the key parameters has been realized already. However, the fixture we getthrough this way can not meet our need in precision. This topic set up a function that can helpanalysis fixture locating and clamping by multiply the analysis method above and reasonableidea. This function has good human-machine interface, we can get the analysis result byentering parameters. As a result, we get a CAFD system that is more intelligent by using thisfunction. That is to say, the original CAFD system gain more intelligence with the help ofnew function.
