ObjectiveTo investigation the extraction and purification process of emodin fromdianthi herba; To investigation the extraction and purification process of totalflavonoids from dianthi herba; Provide the basis for the establishment of theextraction and purification of the active ingredients and quality standards fromdianthi herba.MethodsExtracted by ultrasonic extraction of emodin from dianthi herba, filter outthe best extraction solvent concentration, solid-liquid ratio, ultrasonic extractiontime and ultrasonic extraction temperature. Emodin content as the index. Thesingle factor test and the L9（34）orthogonal test were taken to determine theoptimal extraction process. Use DM301macroporous adsorption resin by thepurification of emodin from dianthi herba. The detection of content wasdetermined by used HPLC.
