Supported iron-based catalysts have extensive studies for oxidation ofbenzene to phenol. At present, most of researches focused on the choice ofthe carrier to this reaction system, the common carrier are SiO2, C, etal.. Inthis paper, Hangjin2#clay containing amorphous Fe2O3of Inner Mongoliawas used for the oxidation of benzene to phenol. The main contents are asfollows:First of all, Hangjin2#clay(A0)was modified by hydrochloric acid with0.2mol/L、0.6mol/L、1.0mol/L, a series of acid-modified Hangjin2#clay(A1、A2、A3) were characterized by XRD, XRF, FT-IR, BET. The resultindicated that, compare with the raw-clay, acid-modified clay has higherspecial surface area, the content of Fe reduced gradually and the framestructure of the clay retains basicaly. Then, four types of Supported iron-based catalysts was prepared(A0-10%Fe、A1-10%Fe、A2-10%Fe、A3-10%Fe). Using the techniques ofXRD, FT-IR, TG, ICP, BET, the relationship between the carrier and thecatalytic performance was studied. The effects of loading of Fe andcalcination temperature of catalysts to the catalytic performance wereinvestigated. The experimental results show that the catalyst of A0-10%Fehas favorable catalytic performance. Finally, the mineral mixture(YLP)according to a certain proportion ofIllite、Chlorite、Palygorskite was prepared, and iron-modified mixture ofminer catalyst(YLP-10%Fe). Through the techniques of XRD, FT-IR, TG,ICP, BET, the different between A0and YLP、A0-10%Fe and YLP-10%Fe onthe catalytic performance were studied.
