Gas lift has inherent gas handling capability, a severe drawback with many other forms ofartificial lift. Gas lift is by the most widely used of artificial lift. Clearly gas lift designand operation remain a key activity in field production operations. The optimization ofgas lift design is demanded according to various production action, particular formationsand the character of products. This essay recounts the practice, and the conclusion whichis carried out by my colleagues and I on how to optimize gas lift design.The project on Optimization of Gas Lift Design lasted16months from June2011toSeptember2012. There are16gas lift designs put into practice of16wells.Below are the conclusions of our research.1. For the normal gas lift production well, Semi closed Gas Lift String has moreadvantages than Open Gas Lift String.2. The natural decline of pressure and deliverability of the formation should be observed.Think ahead the trend of water cut, before designing.3. Kickoff Pressure and Operating Injecting Pressure are limited by gas supplyingpressure.4. Submit the standard to keep the temperature and setting open pressure of gas lift valve.Double check, after finish one node while calibration and installing...
