The water crisis caused by water resources shortage and industrialpollution is getting more and more serious. Water network synthesis is atechnology which applies process technology to the water system for thereasonable water resources configuration. The technology can improve theefficiency in the use of water resources, which also is an effective methodto solve the water crisis.Beer industry is the water users and wastewater emitters, whichbelongs to the typical batch operation process industry.Unit consumptionof water was very different in Chinese breweries, which was also differentfrom the international advanced level. This paper will apply water network synthesis technology to beerindustrial process water for water saving reduction. The main contents areextracted and listed as below:(1) This paper through a brewery actual research in Qingdao,introduce the general situation in beer industry, understand the beerproduction process, which contains saccharification, fermentation, filter,packing and so on. Investigate water point and water operation of allprocesses, and statistics, records and acquisition water data. Analyses thebeer various manufacturing processes scrub water.(2) Analysis the beer production water process and water data,classify the water with the application, set up the water balance of beerproduction process. Based on the analysis of the water, makes a detailedanalysis of each working procedure unit in the beer production, get theproduction equipment’s water and drainage situation, relationship of waterconsumption. Find out the weak link and water saving potential.(3) Classify the of water operation unit with saving potential, simplified as eight water operations. Analysis the water networkparameters and constraint factors, set up the mathematical model of thewater network, use a mathematical programming for the optimal solution,finally plot optimal water-using network diagram.
