As a type of China characteristics clothing brands, the china style clothing brands have begin to take shape after a short time of development. But the utilization of traditional resource still derided as superficial. In consideration of the criticism lack of intensive study, this academic dissertation tends to system research the clothing designs with the theory of fashion design. Base on the four costume design elements:colour, modeling, decorative and fabrics, to study the way of china style clothing brands using traditional elements and analysis the crux of the problem at present.Above all, defined the china-style clothing brands, classified them and selected some represent brands to analyze the cases in detail. First, the style colors:summarized the main colors and matching systems, analyzes the phase and tone of the colors with Chinese traditional color theory in order to study the classic shade. Second, the modeling style:base on the component parts of costume, including the collars, the opening way of front, the lower hems, the sleeves, the waistbands and so on. Third, the decoration:this chapter had three parts:pattern, craft, and accessories. The pattern decoration mainly includes embroidery pictures, printing and dyeing, the content of the pattern are mainly plants with flowers. The craftsmanship mainly contains artworks of embroidery, hemming stitch and seamed, Kesi, brocade etc. Accessories decoration mainly contains the Chinese traditional knotted buttons, Chinese bellybands, Chinese capelets. Fourth, fabric study:from two directions, the first aspect is natural fiber fabrics, include silk, cotton, flax etc. and the other aspect is chemical fiber, such as polyester fibre which be imitated as a visual effects of silk fabric.Research suggests that main conclusions are as follows:(1) The types of traditional elements mainly reference in Chinese ancient royal court and the folk handicraft arts;(2) The decoration craft tend to embroidery design and modeling of spare parts;(3) The design skill is mainly embodied as adorning the western style clothing with Chinese traditional elements;(4) The attitude of using traditional elements is utilitarian and hurry;(5) The preferences effects are fond the minimingism of fancy and complex.The main innovative points are as follows:(1) From the basic theory of fashion design to analyse the traditional elements of China-style clothing brands,(2) The first time of use color analyse into China-style clothing brands;(3) Through the case analysis, qualitative analysis and SWOT analysis, this academic dissertation studied the China characteristics of china-style clothing brands in depth, and tends to make contribution to the research and study of this academic sector.
