α-cyanoacrylate adhesive is referred to as α-glue, or instant adhesive, kind of adhesive has quickly solidified, widely bonding material, the adhesive film also has transparency, oil resistance and electrical insulation, high penetrability and convenient use, etc, it’s widely used in industry, medicine and health, military and civil and electronic, mechanical, process, archaeological and cultural relics, etc. With the continuous development of each application domain, the performance requirements of instant adhesive is becoming more and more demanding, fast curing, high strength, low smell of the instant adhesive is increasingly. Epoxy resin adhesive with a series of excellent performance, such as excellent adhesion performance, good electric insulation performance and well mixed performance, etc, makes it popular in all industries. However, due to its low elongation, high brittleness, and its bonding things aren’t able to endure fatigue, making it unfavorable use in structure parts. In this paper, a kind of two ethoxy group monomer called α-cyano-β-ethoxy ethyl acrylate, was used in instant adhesive and epoxy resin adhesive modification research, and got ideal modification effect.This paper mainly consists of three parts:(1) The synthesis and representation of α-cyano-β-ethoxy ethyl acrylate and synthesis conditions research;(2) Instant adhesive modified with α-cyano-β-ethoxy ethyl acrylate and property study;(3) The preparation of epoxy resin adhesive modified with α-cyano-β-ethoxy ethyl acrylate.First, prepare the crude product of α-cyano-β-ethoxy ethyl acrylate with CH(OC2H5)3. C5H7NO2, C4H6O3, catalyst as raw material; and then purification product after suction filter, alcohol washing, vacuum drying. Characterize monomer by using of FT-IR.Modify5502, T502, S5O5instant adhesive with α-cyano-β-ethoxy ethyl acrylate, make modification with different concentration of modification instant adhesive series. Test the instant adhesive’s mechanical properties, curing time, adhesive bonding efficiency, and then study the results of these tests. The results showed that the instant adhesive which joining the monomer got obvious decrease of curing time, the modified T502,5502curing time reduced on average by18.8%and40.4%, respectively; On the other hand, adhesive bonding efficiency of the modified instant adhesive had an obvious improvement, especially the improvement of S505, the largest strength required time reduced to4h from12h when the concentration of modifier was0.25%.Prepare bicomponent epoxy adhesive series with epoxy E-51, epoxy acrylates, curing agent, accelerator, and joining α-cyano-β-ethoxy ethyl acrylate into the adhesive series. Test tensile shear strength, gel time, bibulous rate, contact angle and surface energy of the adhesive series. The results showed that the epoxy adhesive which modified with α-cyano-β-ethoxy ethyl acrylate showed excellent comprehensive performance. To study the mechanical properties and found that adhesive system maximum tensile shear strength was about34.9MPa, showed excellent mechanical properties.
