Research On Cutting Tool Automatic Identification And Information Management System Based On RFID

Tool management as an important part of modern manufacturing enterprisemanagement, the CNC machine tool management directly affects the supply ofthe tool, the production cycle. Currently, there are few studies on the toolmanagement system based on RFID, fewer on the practical application.Mainlystudy on the following aspects：Firstly, proposed a method to realize RFID-based automatic toolidentification and tool information management system. Using BALLUFF RFIDreader controller, read-write head, electronic tag, FESTO’s air handling units,three five-way solenoid valve, cylinder, NI-6515data acquisition card, AdvantechPCI-1761relay output data acquisition card and microcontroller-based relayoutput control card biulded the hardware system. using a computer programimplement the method.Secondly, combined with RFID encoding technology of the tool, a toolcoding scheme based on systematic classification of commonly used tools isproposed and applied to the RFID-based automatic tool identification and toolinformation management system; analyzed the three ways of tool datamanagement: tag model, form model, database model the system integrated thetag model and database model; studied several ways to access the database inLabVIEW. LabVIEW SQL Toolkit was used to access the database in this toolinformation management system for cutting tool storage, rights management andother functions; Studied the CNC system data exchange method for the systemdata read-side to achieve automatic tool compensation; The using of datavalidation techniques in the communication between PC and RFID reader,improved the accuracy and reliability of communication. Thirdly, using the United States National Instruments LabVIEW andMicrosoft’s database management software--ACCESS developed the writing side,the reading side and tool information management side of the tool automaticidentification and tool information management system, realized the functionssuch as: automatic identification, automatic tool compensation, tool lifemanagement, tool query, query operating records, operational recordsautomatically reports, established a site debug test method and applied inpractice.
