Application Of RFID In Petrochemical Device Manufacturing For Company A

With the development of modern manufacturing technology, multi-varieties, small batches and personalized demand of customer gradually occupy the mainstream manufacturing. Traditional methods of supply chain management and production information collecting and processing can’t meet the concept of rapid response and agile manufacturing. Therefore, a new technology is needed to meet the requirement of modern manufacturing. Radio Frequency Identification (RFID), with its unique automatic identification and excellent capabilities of data capturing, was widely used in manufacturing, public safety, transport and logistics and other fields. Timeliness of data collection and accurate and massive information enable the productive process transparency, and also improve the management level of enterprises.Company A is a manufacturing enterprise, which mainly produces industrial furnaces and large-scale modular devices as a whole leading. In this paper, main problems existed in supply chain and production management system of company A have been analysed in detail as a research background for the production process of petrochemical devices of company A. According to the characteristics of RFID and company’s needs of their own, solutions of optimizing supply chain and establishing a new production management system through improving information gathering were raised based on RFID technology. The application of RFID technology can improve the management level of supply chain and visualization of manufacturing process, moreover, can reduce costs and improve production efficiency.
