Land is the material basis of human survival and development. With the increase of the population of human beings and the acceleration of urbanization, the contradiction between man and land has become more and more serious. For we have taken land economic benefit as the main target, the protection for land ecological environment is insufficient, causing external diseconomies of land use and influencing sustainable utilization of land. Research on land ecological security has become an important part of research on the sustainable utilization for land resources. In2010, Major Function Oriented Zoning was established, as a blueprint of territorial and spatial development with emphasis on humanism and human-nature harmony. Major Function Oriented Zoning is a guideline to arrange population distribution, economic layout, land use and urbanization patterns. On the background of Major Function Oriented Zoning, study the variation of land ecological security in major function oriented zoning will have theoretical and practical significance for understanding the characteristics and evolution of land ecological security, consummating policy and giving full role to adjust the relationship between human and nature.The main content of the research are as follows:(1) According to the characteristics of the relationship between human and land, the interaction between land ecological system and socioeconomic system is analyzed. Human activities and natural environment exert pressure on the land ecological system, causing the security state of land ecological system to change, then land ecological system prompts human to make response to it through information feedback. Major function oriented zoning is one of the ways human make response. In this way, human activities have been regulated and the relationship between man and land adjusted. Various major function oriented zoning exert different influence on the mechanism of "Pressure-State-Response" in land ecological system. And the level of land ecological security will influence the division and implementation of major function oriented zoning in return.(2) On the basis of Pressure-State-Response model,26indexes were selected to construct the land ecological security assessment index system from aspects of pressure, state and response. By collecting21cities ’data, land ecological security level was calculated and land ecological security pattern was further analyzed with the help of spatial statistical analysis method. The results show that the security level of the Pearl River Delta, the Western Guangdong and Eastern Guangdong is low, while the security level of the Pearl River Delta periphery and the Northern Guangdong is high. Among these indicators, there are large differences in economic density, wastewater per unit of land, fixed asset investment, population density, natural disaster area proportion, construction land proportion and per capita water resources, which demonstrates that each city’ s resources endowment, development level and environment protection differ from that of other cities. Economic factor is the main reason.(3) By overlaying the image of land ecological security and of Major Function Oriented Zoning in Guangdong, the situation and influencing factors of land ecological security in every main function area were evaluated. The analysis shows that the security level of optimizing development zones is sensitive except that the level of Zhuhai city is good. For key zones of development, the security level of Jiangmen, Huizhou and Zhaoqing is high, while of others is low. The land ecological security degree of major grain producing areas is risky and of ecological development areas is the highest In various main function areas, the degree of "Pressure-State-Response" in land ecological system is different. The degree of "Pressure-State-Response" is "Lower-Lower-Higher" in optimizing development zones,"Low-Low-High" in key zones of development,"High-Higher-Lower" in major grain producing areas, and "Higher-High-Low" in ecological development areas. The factors affecting land ecological security level in each area vary. Then suggestions were bring forward to improve land ecological security. In the optimizing development zones, we should give priority to the economical and intensive use. Increasing the efficiency of land utilization should be prior to other factors in key zones of development. The major grain producing areas is to improve land productivity and prevent land pollution in the first place. Ecological protection must come first in ecological development areas.
